Description

Created during lockdown in 2020, this piece depicts Goldfinches and Mayflowers. The Mayflower has traditionally held negative connotations with it being seen as bad luck to have it in the house. This belief harks back to the time of the Great Plague and heralds from the scent emitted from the Mayflower as it dies. The chemical breakdown of Trimethylamine creates a similar smell as chemicals released during the early stages of organic tissue decay.
